Darren Deadbeat is the epitome of the working-class, DIY musician. Hustling for recognition in an overcrowded marketplace, one filled to the brim with rich kids, city traders, nepo babies, and chillingly, ARTificial Indulgence. Part avant-garde songsmith twisting together elements of Post-Punk, Punk Rock, Garage Rock and Alternative Rock. Part renaissance songwriter with compelling and often off-beat lyrics. He tells stories filled with social commentary, political satire, heartfelt introspectives along with a healthy dose of dark humour. It’s a sound from an alternative dimension where David Bowie was a Punk, Ian Dury a greasy Hard Rocker and Lemmy a Funk Soul Brother. His music is forged in a furnace and tempered with icy lyrics.

With a punchy sound that rejects the overproduced, robot-injected nature present in so much contemporary music, Darren Deadbeat instead infuses his recordings with as much humanity and soul as he can muster. Looking back to move forward, he regards the noise made by musicians and producers in the 70s, 80s and 90s as a golden era of musical inspiration. His creative vision combines the old with the new in a rallying call to bring human connection to a world that’s trying to turn people into drones. This is music by a human, for other humans.
